The Egyptian national football team continued to make history in the current edition of the Africa Cup of Nations, hosted by Morocco, after overcoming Ivory Coast in the quarter-finals with a 3-2 victory, qualifying for the semi-finals where they will face Senegal next Wednesday.
Reaching the semi-finals of the Africa Cup of Nations marks the 12th time that the Egyptian national team has reached this stage out of the 35 editions held throughout the history of the continental tournament. This excludes four editions where there was no semi-final due to the number of participating teams, meaning that Egypt has reached this stage a total of 16 times.
