Madbouly: Development projects at the SEMAF factory represent an integrated system for localizing the transportation industry in Egypt

This morning, Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly began an inspection tour of the ongoing development work at the SEMAF railway and metro car factory. He was accompanied by Lieutenant General Kamel El-Wazir, Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development and Minister of Industry and Transport; Engineer Mahmoud Esmat, Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy; Engineer Mohamed Sheimy, Minister of Public Business Sector; Dr. Ibrahim Saber, Governor of Cairo; Engineer Abdel-Sadek El-Shorbagy, Chairman of the National Press Authority; Ahmed El-Moslemany, Chairman of the National Media Authority; Engineer Wagdy Radwan, Deputy Minister of Transport; Dr. Nahed Youssef, Head of the Industrial Development Authority; Engineer Mohamed Amer, Chairman of the Egyptian National Railways Authority; Dr. Tarek El-Gowaily, Head of the National Authority for Tunnels; and a number of officials and representatives from companies affiliated with the Arab Organization for Industrialization and the South Korean company Hyundai Rotem.

Choi Byung-soon, Minister Plenipotentiary and Consul General of the Korean Embassy in Cairo, also participated in the visit. The Prime Minister affirmed that the Egyptian state has set clear objectives for localizing the manufacturing of various transportation equipment. This will be achieved through the implementation of numerous large-scale industrial projects that will enable the country to position itself on the regional and global manufacturing map. He pointed out that the development projects at the SEMAF factory represent an integrated system for localizing the transportation industry in Egypt, contributing to strengthening the economy, saving foreign currency, opening new export opportunities, and building a skilled Egyptian workforce capable of competing regionally and internationally.
