Minister Kamel El-Wazir Witnesses Signing of Major Egyptian-Djiboutian Agreements in Ports and Green Energy

Lieutenant General Kamel El-Wazir, Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development and Minister of Industry and Transport, and his accompanying delegation visited the headquarters of the Ports and Free Zones Authority of the Republic of Djibouti. The visit was attended by Hassan Hamad Ibrahim, Minister of Infrastructure and Equipment; Aboubaker Omar Haddi, Chairman of the Ports and Free Zones Authority of the Republic of Djibouti; and Ambassador Abdel Rahman Raafat, Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to Djibouti.

The visit began with a presentation on the Djibouti Ports and Free Zones Authority, outlining its core functions, responsibilities, projects, and key initiatives. Following this, the Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development and Minister of Industry and Transport held an expanded meeting with Hassan Hamad Ibrahim, Minister of Infrastructure and Equipment, and Aboubaker Omar Haddi, Chairman of the Djibouti Ports and Free Zones Authority. Also present were Ambassador Abdel Rahman Raafat, Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to Djibouti; Dr. Ismail Abdel Ghaffar, President of the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport; Mohamed Fathy, Assistant Minister for Maritime Transport; and the heads of seven Egyptian companies specializing in infrastructure and maritime port projects (the Holding Company for Land and Maritime Transport, the Holding Company for Roads and Bridges, Elsewedy Group and its CEO, EDEX, Qased Khair, Al-Rawad, and Misr Construction). After the meeting, the two sides toured the port and free zone facilities, including the container terminal at Doraleh, the site of the planned solar power plant (developed as part of the port projects in cooperation with Egyptian companies), and the port's logistics zone.
