The Ministry of Foreign Affairs organizes a grand ceremony to honor icons of Egyptian diplomacy.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Immigration, and Egyptian Expatriates Affairs organized a grand ceremony at Tahrir Palace to honor icons of Egyptian diplomacy who have contributed over many decades to elevating Egypt's regional and international standing and consolidating its role as a cornerstone of stability in its Arab, African, and international environment.

The list of honorees included a constellation of icons of Egyptian diplomacy who have left a clear mark on national work and the service of Egyptian diplomacy in regional and international forums. These included: Dr. Esmat Abdel Meguid, Dr. Boutros Boutros-Ghali, Ahmed Maher, Dr. Nabil Elaraby, and Dr. Osama El-Baz.

The ceremony was attended by Counselor Adnan El-Fangary, Minister of Justice; Dr. Maya Morsi, Minister of Social Solidarity; Dr. Ghada Waly, Executive Director of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime; and a number of former foreign ministers, including Mr. Amr Moussa, Mr. Mohamed El-Orabi, Mr. Nabil Fahmy, and Mr. Sameh Shoukry, in addition to Dr. Mustafa El-Feki and members of parliament. The families of those honored also participated in the ceremony, in a gesture of appreciation and affirmation of the esteemed position of Egyptian diplomacy and its enduring historical role.
