Pakistan's Counter Terrorism Unit announced that it had thwarted a major terrorist attack and killed two militants during a security operation launched by security forces in Peshawar based on intelligence information.

Pakistan's Geo News channel reported on Monday that the militants were planning a large-scale attack on a sensitive target in the city. A large quantity of weapons and ammunition, including an explosive vest, a machine gun, a pistol, and several live rounds, were seized from the militants.
