In a statement issued on Monday, the Ministry of Transport revealed the progress of the construction of the "Long Live Egypt 2" multipurpose terminal on Berth 100 at Dekheila Port. This comes as part of the state's strategy to transform Egypt into a global trade and logistics hub.

The statement explained that the project includes the construction of a modern container terminal equipped with the latest operating technology, in cooperation with the world's largest shipping line. The terminal will span a 1,200-meter-long berth (out of a total berth length of 1,680 meters), a depth of 18 meters, and an area of 840,000 square meters. The terminal will have a capacity of up to 1.5 million TEUs annually, the majority of which will be allocated to transit containers. This will enhance Dekheila Port's position as one of the most important ports in the Mediterranean basin in this field.
