Three new tombs of prominent statesmen discovered in Luxor dating back to the New Kingdom

The Egyptian archaeological mission working in the Draa Abu al-Naga area on the West Bank of Luxor has uncovered three new tombs dating back to the New Kingdom as part of the current excavation season at the site.

Sherif Fathy, Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, described this discovery as a scientific and archaeological achievement that adds to the record of distinguished discoveries that enhance Egypt's position on the global cultural tourism map. He emphasized that these tombs, with their unique cultural and human value, are a promising addition to the tourist sites capable of attracting more visitors, especially those interested in cultural tourism.
