Cairo University Council, headed by Dr. Mohamed Sami Abdel Sadek, President of the University, approved the nominations of the university's faculties and institutes for the state awards for the year 2024, whether granted by the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology or the Supreme Council of Culture, of all types, which include "the Nile and the Appreciation in the fields of advanced sciences and technological sciences, arts, literature and social sciences, as well as the Pioneers Awards and the Women's Appreciation Award", and the number of candidates reached 25 candidates for the various awards.

As for the State Appreciation Awards in Science, the University Council approved the nomination of each of: Dr. Ahmed Galal Helmy Abdo, Professor at the Faculty of Science in the field of basic sciences, Dr. Hosni Awad Hassan Al-Banna, Professor at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine in the field of agricultural sciences, Dr. Musalhi Rajab Musalhi Zayed, Professor at the Faculty of Pharmacy in the field of medical sciences, and Dr. Iman Salah El-Din Othman El-Mahlawi, Professor at the Faculty of Engineering in the field of engineering sciences.
