Dr. Yasmine Fouad, Minister of Environment, in her capacity as the official responsible for facilitating climate finance negotiations at the ministerial level, and Sally Box, Deputy Minister of the Australian Environment, moderated the discussions of the "Climate Heroes" sub-ministerial group within 4 ministerial groups concerned with facilitating consultations on the new quantitative collective target for climate finance, emanating from the 2024 high-level ministerial dialogue, during the preliminary part of the COP29 climate conference held in Baku from October 9 to 11.

Dr. Yasmine Fouad explained that the sub-ministerial working groups aim to enhance discussions between representatives of the Parties, as each group is managed by two co-facilitators who direct a set of questions whose answers will provide indicative results and broad outlines to be presented in the reports that will be submitted to the presidency of the conference.
