"Al-Tahira Palace and Center 10"... Here is the Armed Forces Operations Center in the Glorious October War
10/6/2024

Al-Tahira Palace is one of the most important, beautiful and luxurious presidential palaces in Egypt and the world, despite its small area compared to other royal palaces, but many important historical events have passed through it, and it has hosted many presidents and kings of other countries.

One of the most important historical events that the palace was a part of was hosting the headquarters of the Egyptian Armed Forces Operations Center during the October 6, 1973 War, known as Center No. (10).

Every corner of Tahra Palace expresses different Eastern and Western cultures, and is part of a major historical event that cannot be overlooked. After the July 1952 Revolution, Tahra Palace was transformed into a presidential guest palace that hosted many presidents and kings of countries, including, for example, King Saud bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, King Faisal bin Al Saud, King Muhammad Zahir Shah of Afghanistan, Kwame Nkrumah, President of Ghana, and his Egyptian wife Fathia Nkrumah, Haile Selassie, Emperor of Ethiopia, Ahmed Ben Bella, President of Algeria, King Hussein bin Talal, King of Jordan, Mobutu Sese Seko, President of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and Mohammad Reza Pahlavi, Crown Prince of Iran. In addition, President Gamal Abdel Nasser and President Sadat used the palace for political meetings with heads of government and ministers of other countries, such as US Secretary of State Henry Kissinger. Tahra Palace, as one of the most important presidential palaces in Egypt, is still standing tall, and it gained this importance from the many figures who visited it and the historical events that the palace was a part of, which cannot be overlooked throughout history.
