Egypt hosts WADA meeting

Egypt’s Minister of Youth and Sports Ashraf Sobhy asserted that confidence Egypt gained over the past period has mainly contributed to the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA)’s keenness on holding its meeting in Cairo.

Sobhy indicated that the big quantum leap in sports system in Egypt at present was achieved thanks to the support of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi in this regard.

President Sisi is paying a greater attention to developing and upgrading the sports structure in the country.

Sobhy’s remarks came while participating in meetings of the board of the WADA on Thursday.

The meeting discussed the most important points that were agreed on in the executive office’s meeting.

For the first time ever in the history of the region, Egypt has played host to the meeting that started proceedings on May 17 and lasts until May 20.

Egypt is hosting the meeting for the second time in the history of the African continent.
