The Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation, Dr. Hani Sweilem, emphasised the significance of assisting technical cadre training programmes for young engineers and researchers in relation to the best management of water resources. especially in light of the expanding difficulties the water sector is facing.
He claimed that the ministry's distinct training capabilities are reflected in the regional training centre, the training centres of the Drainage Authority, the Survey Authority, and the Hydraulics Research Institute at the National Water Research Center, all of which provide a wide range of training courses for the ministry's employees as well as trainees from Arab and African countries.
Sweilem added that the available training programmes prepare engineers for contemporary water resource management and climate change adaptation.
He explained Egypt's readiness to be a regional center for the African continent in the field of capacity building, in areas related to water and climate change, under the umbrella of the initiative to adapt to climate change in the water sector, which Egypt launched during the COP27 climate conference, especially in light of the ministry's possession of the necessary logistical capabilities.
