Officially... Helwan University's Name Changed to "Capital University" by Cabinet Decree

Helwan University has officially changed its name to "Capital University" following the publication in the Official Gazette of Prime Ministerial Decree No. 4329 of 2025, which amends certain provisions of the executive regulations of the Universities Organization Law.

The first article of the decree stipulates that, without prejudice to the established legal status of students enrolled at Helwan University before the issuance of this decree, the phrase "Capital University" shall be replaced with "Helwan University" wherever it appears in the executive regulations of the Universities Organization Law.

In its first official statement following the name change, the Capital University announced its readiness to host the fifth forum of the Union of Russian and Arab University Presidents, which will be held under the theme: "Bridges of Knowledge Civilizations: Education, Innovation, and a Sustainable Future."
