The representative of the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) in Egypt, Jeremy Hopkins, praised Egypt's launch of a new strategy with the participation of youth to confront climate change.

Hopkins confirmed, according to the United Nations Information Center, that UNICEF's solutions regarding climate change, which were presented at the COP27 World Climate Conference in Sharm El-Sheikh, are represented in the participation of youth and children in effective discussions, and they must be at the center of that, as they are the ones who will inherit this world. They are not responsible for climate change, but they will bear the consequences.

According to the UNICEF report, climate change poses a direct threat to a child's ability to survive, grow and thrive. Children are the least responsible group for climate change, yet they bear the greatest burden of its effects.
