Today, the General Authority for Construction and Housing Cooperatives organises, for the first time in Egypt, the thirteenth session of the Conference of the Council of African Ministers of Cooperatives, which is being held under the auspices of President Abdel-Fattah Al-Sisi, President of the Republic, from 17 to 20 October 2022, under the title "Together for Africa's Development," in the presence of African ministers of cooperatives and senior cooperative leaders.
During the conference's inaugural session, Egypt will be selected to chair the Council of African Ministers of Cooperatives for the following three years, in conjunction with the Fourth International Conference on Cooperative Housing ICCH'22. Representatives of African housing cooperatives, under the aegis of the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Egyptian Agency for Partnership for Development.
The conference's opening session will also award the finest six cooperative projects on the continent for 2022, covering all areas of the continent, including North, East, West, South, and Central Africa. The role of Egyptian enterprises operating in the Egyptian and African markets, the proper structure for selling Egyptian products, and how to establish integration and collaboration between different cooperatives among participating nations.
Major General Dr. Hossam El-Din Mostafa Rizk, head of the General Authority for Construction and Housing Cooperatives, stated in this regard that Egypt's hosting of the conference falls within the framework of the Egyptian state's efforts to strengthen ties with brotherly African countries in various fields, in light of the state's adoption of policies that provide full support for development and infrastructure projects. Especially since Egypt was awarded the permanent headquarters of the African Housing Cooperatives Organization and the Regional Office of the International Cooperative Alliance for the North Africa area last year.
