10/11/2022

On Tuesday, October 6th, the Smart Village in 6th October City will hold the 2nd International Conference on Green Climate and Smart Waste Management, titled Accelerating to Stop Food Waste and Loss for a Net Zero Emission Future, for two days.

The conference is being held under the patronage of Sheikh Al-Azhar Al-Sharif, His Eminence Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb, Minister of Environment Dr. Yasmine Fouad, and Minister of Supply Dr. Ali Al-Moselhi, as part of the presidential initiative Prepare for the Green and as part of the country's preparations for the Cop 27 Climate Summit.

Dr. Mona Fouad Ibrahim, President of the International Conference on Green Climate and Smart Waste Management, stated in a statement that this is the second edition of the conference, with the goal of transferring and localising the latest global technology in the field of reducing food loss and waste, through entrepreneurs with ideas and projects that aim to improve the environmental situation, and creating environmentally friendly solutions.

She went on to say that the conference aims to achieve the twelfth goal of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, as well as Egypt's Vision 2030 for Sustainable Development, by halving the per capita share of food waste in all stages related to food, whether in production or supply chains, where it is considered. Climate change is exacerbated by unsustainable consumption and production trends.
