Dr. Hani Sweilem, Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation, as well as Petteri Taalas, Secretary-General of the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) and his delegation, discussed the international initiative for adaptation in the water sector, to be presented by Egypt during the COP27 climate conference, in cooperation with the World Meteorological Organization. and a number of international partners.

The initiative includes an axis for raising the efficiency of water use through rationalization, an axis for policies and ways of cooperation in water-related activities, and a third for linking the water and climate agendas, which contributes to achieving the sustainable development goals.

The two sides discussed the initiative being prepared by the World Meteorological Organization, commissioned by the Secretary-General of the United Nations; To provide early warning of weather phenomena in all countries of the world.
