President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and President Vladimir Putin of the Russian Federation participated today, Wednesday, via video conference, in a historic event marking the installation of the reactor's containment vessel for Unit 1, along with the signing of the nuclear fuel purchase order. This pivotal step further advances the El-Dabaa Nuclear Power Plant project.

This event coincides with Egypt's celebration of the fifth annual Nuclear Energy Day, held on November 19th each year, commemorating the signing of the intergovernmental agreement between the Arab Republic of Egypt and the Russian Federation for the construction and operation of the El-Dabaa Nuclear Power Plant. This day is considered symbolic of the launch of Egypt's peaceful nuclear program.
