To lift the transfer ban, Zamalek moves to resolve Ferjani Sassi's fine crisis
11/10/2025

Zamalek officials have decided to negotiate in the coming hours with Ferjani Sassi, the Tunisian national team and Al-Gharafa midfielder, and former Zamalek player, to resolve his financial fine.

Zamalek is seeking to reach an agreement with Ferjani Sassi to pay the $800,000 fine, which has accrued interest, in installments as quickly as possible, in order to ensure the transfer ban is lifted.

Zamalek has decided to offer Ferjani Sassi a payment plan to be spread over a year.

Zamalek received a FIFA penalty in recent days due to several issues, most notably the outstanding payments owed to former coach José Gomes and his assistants, in addition to the recent case involving Ferjani Sassi. Ferjani Sassi left Zamalek in the summer of 2021 after his contract expired, following a dispute with the club's management over unpaid wages owed to him by the Tunisian player.
