Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Health and Population, held a meeting with Dr. Tarek Tawfiq, Deputy Minister of Health for Population Affairs, to follow up the indicators of work in the National Population Strategy, within the framework of achieving sustainable development goals and Egypt’s Vision 2030.
Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, the official spokesman for the Ministry of Health and Population, said that the minister, followed up the work progress of the National Population Council, which is entrusted with preparing studies and research, setting policies and plans and proposing strategies related to population issues.
Abdul Ghaffar added that the minister was briefed on the studies and statistics of population growth rates that the council is conducting in cooperation with the institutions and authorities concerned in the same matter, and they include total fertility rates, birth and death rates, population census, rates of using family planning methods, rates of using effective methods, and discontinuation rates.
