The Minister of Commerce receives the economic chief of the Suez Canal to review industrial projects

Engineer Ahmed Samir, Minister of Trade and Industry, affirmed the ministry's keenness to provide all aspects of support and assistance to the Suez Canal Economic Zone, as it is one of the strategic national projects that contribute to attracting local and international investments and providing more job opportunities.


He pointed to the importance of strengthening efforts to develop the region as a distinct investment destination and a global commercial, industrial and logistical hub.


This came during the minister's expanded meeting with Walid Gamal El-Din, the new head of the General Authority for the Economic Zone of the Suez Canal, and his accompanying delegation to review industrial projects and investment opportunities in the region.


Samir said that the Egyptian state is working during the current stage to provide more incentives and facilities for all industrial projects established inside Egypt, in a way that contributes to increasing the contribution of the industrial sector to the gross domestic product and achieving comprehensive and sustainable economic development.


He pointed out that the Suez Canal Economic Zone is making great efforts to develop and exploit the potential of the Canal and its surrounding areas and to create distinguished investment opportunities in a large number of industrial and service sectors, in a way that contributes to advancing the economic development in Egypt and enhancing the export movement to global markets.


The minister pointed out that the meeting dealt with ways to enhance joint coordination between the ministry and the authority to provide services for the projects established in the economic zone of the Suez Canal. He also reviewed the region's vision to attract more investments in the fields of industry, maritime transport and logistics services.
