The Egyptian-Chinese Friendship Association, headed by Ambassador Ahmed Wali, hosted today, Saturday, a round table entitled "The Future of Sino-American Relations" in light of the recent developments in the Taiwan Strait, with the participation of Ambassador Liao Liqiang, Ambassador of the People's Republic of China in Cairo.
The round table dealt with several axes, including the issue of Taiwan in the balance of international law, the goals and dimensions of the visit of the US House Speaker, Nancy Pelosi, to Taiwan, the Chinese reactions and the repercussions of the crisis on the Chinese interior and regional situations, as well as the Sino-American competition in the Middle East.
The roundtable also discussed the political, security and economic repercussions, the future of Sino-US relations, the future of great power competition, and the Egyptian-Chinese relations in light of the current crisis.
