Dr. Osama Al-Azhari, Minister of Religious Endowments, received Dr. Mohamed Faisal Ibrahim, Minister in Charge of Islamic Affairs and Senior Minister of State for Home Affairs of the Republic of Singapore, and his accompanying delegation, at the Grand Mosque of Egypt in the New Administrative Capital, in the presence of several ministry officials.

At the beginning of the meeting, the Minister of Religious Endowments welcomed the distinguished guest and the accompanying delegation, emphasizing that this visit was particularly significant given the deep-rooted relations between the two countries and the close scientific, religious, cultural, and historical ties that bind them. He pointed to Al-Azhar's role in graduating a number of distinguished Singaporean scholars, including muftis, teachers, and other religious figures. He cited the Al-Junaid School in Singapore as a shining example of this, a model for disseminating Islamic knowledge and enlightened religious awareness.

For his part, the Singaporean minister expressed his deep gratitude to the Egyptian Minister of Religious Endowments for the warm welcome. He noted that relations between the two countries transcend official ties, encompassing deep-rooted friendship and cultural exchange. He added that several Singaporean scholars are graduates of Al-Azhar and have contributed to spreading sound religious awareness in their country. He also commended the Ministry of Religious Endowments' scholarly and outreach efforts in disseminating enlightened thought across the globe, emphasizing his desire to enhance cooperation in religious education and endowment management, given the Egyptian Ministry of Religious Endowments' strong scientific, administrative, and investment expertise in these areas.

At the conclusion of the visit, the Egyptian Minister of Religious Endowments accompanied his Singaporean counterpart and the accompanying delegation on a tour of the Grand Mosque of Egypt and the Dar Al-Quran. The two ministers also exchanged commemorative gifts, a mutual expression of the deep appreciation and affection between their two nations.
