Madbouly: More than 60% of natural gas goes to power stations

8/9/2022

Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister, said that more than 60% of natural gas goes to power stations to produce electricity, and the more electricity is rationalized, the more we have the savings for export and the provision of hard currency, pointing out that a measure was taken last October in coordination with Petroleum and Electricity , given the electricity stations that can work with diesel that is produced locally and to provide gas and export it.

The Prime Minister added in a press conference today, Tuesday, that we succeeded in this matter as of October and started replacing as many as possible in a number of mazut stations instead of natural gas, which achieved a surplus that was exported over the past period, averaging 100 to 150 million dollars per month.
