The Prime Minister issued Resolution No. (2720) for the year 2022, regarding the rules for personal photography in public places, after the approval of the Council of Ministers during its meeting on Wednesday, July 20, 2022, in this regard, after presenting to the Ministerial Committee for Tourism, which was held on Monday corresponding to July 18, 2022, chaired by the Prime Minister.
The decision stipulates that personal photography of Egyptians, foreigners, residing and tourists in public places in the Republic shall be allowed according to a number of controls established in it, without requiring permits or payment of fees, using all types of traditional and digital photography cameras as well as personal video cameras, and the holders of these cameras. . it also prohibited the use of equipment that would occupy public roads or professional photographic equipment such as photographic umbrellas and outdoor industrial lighting means in personal photography, unless after obtaining a prior permit, in accordance with the laws and regulations regulating that.
The decision also indicated that personal photography is not permitted in the following public places except after obtaining a prior approval from the concerned authorities, which are: lands, buildings, facilities and equipment affiliated to the Ministries of Defense and Military Production, the Interior and other sovereign, security, and judicial authorities and parliaments, in addition to the buildings and facilities of ministries and government departments.
