President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met with Prime Minister
Moustafa Madbouly, Minister of Planning and Economic Development Dr. Hala
El-Said and Minister of Transport Kamel El-Wazir.
The Spokesman for the Presidency stated that the meeting
reviewed developments pertinent to the Ministry of Transport's projects
implemented across the country and the status of construction stages.
The minister of transport outlined continuous efforts
to develop and modernize the public transport system across the country, at the
executive and construction levels, as well as the future stages of various
projects and the provision of financing resources. He also reviewed the
ministry's most prominent projects in the city of Sharm El-Sheikh, particularly
the development of the Sharm El-Sheikh sea port to support the city’s tourism
potential, as well as ongoing development of Sharm El-Sheikh Airport. This
comes within the framework of the comprehensive development of the city in
preparation for hosting the World Climate Summit in November. The President
gave directives to rapidly complete all development works for the city's
facilities to receive the guests of Egypt participating in the summit.
The President also gave directives to increase the reliance
of the Ministry of Transport's projects on locally manufactured components that
conform to international standards, in partnership and cooperation with the
private sector, while taking into account that the transport system is vital
for the advancement of the country's infrastructure.
