The meetings of the Jordanian-Egyptian Joint Technical Committee for Land Transport concluded today, Wednesday, which was held over two days in the Jordanian capital, Amman, within the framework of strengthening bilateral relations in the field of land transport between the two countries.


During the meetings, the two sides discussed issues of common interest, including facilitating the passage of Jordanian trucks (transit) through the Egyptian lands to the Libyan lands, completing the electronic linking procedures and defining the targets for electronic connectivity.


They also discussed the possibility of generalizing to the Egyptian commercial and industrial sector the possibility of storing goods, using the logistical facilities available in the Aqaba Special Economic Zone, and reducing fees and wages on trucks carrying hazardous materials in Nuweiba and not waiting at the port for long periods.


For his part, the head of the Egyptian delegation and CEO of the internal and international land transport agency, Engineer Sayed Metwally, said that the meetings resulted in many decisions that will be reflected on the ground and that will facilitate the passengers and carriers between the two parties.
