The Egyptian-Jordanian Joint Technical Committee for Land Transport held a meeting today in Amman within the framework of strengthening the existing transport relations between the two brotherly countries.

During the committee's work, Eng. Metwally stressed the committee's continuity and regularity for the benefit of the transport sector between the two countries, while Al-Tahtmouni affirmed the two sides' keenness to strengthen transport relations between the two brotherly countries and overcome difficulties with the aim of facilitating transport and trade operations.

The two sides discussed a number of issues of common interest, including facilitating the passage of Jordanian trucks (transit) through the Egyptian territories to the Libyan territories to deliver their cargo to their destinations in Libya, completing the electronic linking procedures, and identifying the target fields for the electronic link.

The two sides also discussed the possibility of generalizing the Egyptian commercial and industrial sector, storing goods and using the logistical facilities available in the Aqaba Special Economic Zone, reducing fees and wages on trucks carrying hazardous materials in Nuweiba, and not waiting for them at the port for long periods.
