The conference "Immortality: Tutankhamun Centenary" kicks off in Luxor.. November 4

8/2/2022

The Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities is organizing the "Immortality: Tutankhamun Centenary" conference in Luxor from 4 to 6 November.

The memory gains its importance from the discovery of the most important tomb in the history of ancient Egyptian civilization, the tomb of the golden king Tutankhamun, which was discovered by British archaeologist Howard Carter, on November 4, 1922.

Dr. Zahi Hawass will open the 3-day conference on the evening of November 4, and the first session will include presentations by Lord George Carnarvon and Mrs. Fiona Carnarvon, grandchildren of Lord George Herbert, Fifth Earl of Carnarvon, who sponsored Howard Carter's excavation of Tutankhamun's tomb.
