The second meeting of the Egyptian-Japanese Investment Promotion Committee was held at the headquarters of the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones, headed by Counselor Mohamed Abdel Wahab, CEO of the Authority, representing the Egyptian side, and Oka Hiroshi, Japan's ambassador in Cairo, representing the Japanese side.


 The President of the Industrial Development Authority, the President of the Japan Business Association, the President of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) in Egypt, the President of the Japan External Trade Organization in Cairo (JETRO), and representatives of major Japanese companies operating in Egypt also participated in the meeting.


During the meeting, Counselor Mohamed Abdel Wahab confirmed that the Investment Authority is intensifying its efforts to attract Japanese investments, due to its added value and development benefits to the Egyptian economy, stressing that the Authority has succeeded in attracting many new Japanese investors to Egypt, and has also succeeded in encouraging Japanese companies operating in Egypt. Egypt has expanded in the Egyptian market, since the first meeting of the Egyptian-Japanese Investment Promotion Committee was held last year, which included “Sumotomo” and “Yazaki” companies in the field of manufacturing electrical braids for cars, and “Otsuka” company for medical and food products.
