Iranian judicial authorities announced this morning, Wednesday, the execution of three individuals convicted of spying for the Israeli intelligence agency (Mossad) and smuggling equipment used to carry out assassinations inside the country.

The authorities explained that documents in the case file indicate that the three defendants were in direct contact with a senior Mossad operative in a neighboring country and worked to smuggle the equipment under the guise of a shipment of alcoholic beverages. This equipment was later used to carry out an assassination inside Iran.
