Egypt welcomed US President Donald Trump's announcement of a ceasefire between the Islamic Republic of Iran and Israel on June 24, 2025, stressing that it is a fundamental development toward containing the dangerous escalation witnessed in the region in recent days. It is expected to constitute an important turning point toward ending the military confrontation between the two countries and restoring calm to the region.

Egypt reiterated that the Palestinian issue remains the core of the conflict in the region, and that its just and comprehensive settlement fulfills the legitimate aspirations of the Palestinian people and is the only alternative to achieving sustainable security and stability in the region and the world through the establishment of an independent state on the June 4, 1967, lines with East Jerusalem as its capital.
