Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass has declared a nighttime curfew in downtown Los Angeles, a move that comes after the nation's second-largest city experienced riots and nighttime clashes between security forces and protesters against President Donald Trump's immigration policies.

"I have declared a local emergency and imposed a curfew in downtown Los Angeles to stop vandalism and looting," Bass told reporters.
