Connecting 5 new solar-powered stations to the public electricity grid in four governorates

Engineer Mamdouh Raslan, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Holding Company for Drinking Water and Wastewater, announced the completion of the work of connecting five new solar-powered stations to the public electricity network, in four governorates: (Dakahlia, Red Sea, Luxor, Sohag), which are operated by an on system. The grid system has different cards, within the holding company's plan to rely on solar energy to rationalize energy consumption in its stations.


He stressed that this comes in line with the Egyptian state's vision towards turning to solar energy and new and renewable energies, noting that the company has achieved successes during the last period, as about two million pounds are saved annually from its electricity consumption bill as a result of the installation of solar power stations, which reached the total current capacities of those stations 2. 4 megawatts of current capacity with a total of 23 solar power stations, and it is targeted to reach 30 megawatts within 7 years.
