The National Seismic Network, affiliated with the National Research Institute of Astronomy and Geophysics, monitored the aftershocks of the Crete earthquake in Greece, which occurred in the early hours of Wednesday, May 14, 2025, and was felt by residents of Egypt.

The National Seismic Network's stations detected a new aftershock this morning, Wednesday, measuring 4.26 on the Richter scale, 421 km north of Marsa Matruh, as part of the aftershocks of the Mediterranean earthquake that occurred at dawn today.
