President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met today with Lieutenant General Osama Rabie, Chairman of the Suez Canal Authority, and Mr. Mostafa El-Degishi, Chairman of the South Red Sea Arsenal Company.
The Official Spokesperson for the Presidency stated that the President was briefed on developments in the Suez Canal's navigation and the efforts made to maintain the level of maritime and navigational services despite current international and regional challenges. This includes adding a package of new navigational services and completing projects to develop the canal's waterway. In this context, reference was made to the completion of the Southern Sector Development Project of the Canal, which entered full operation in February 2025. The Ismailia Water Plant, with a total capacity of 180,000 cubic meters, was also completed, along with the introduction of new marine units into service. The developments of projects undertaken by the Authority and its subsidiaries, the activities of the Authority's Research Center, the status of the construction of new floating bridges, the completion of the drainage of Lake Bardawil, and the improvement of fishing berths were also reviewed.
