During its current excavation season at Tell Abu Saifi in the North Sinai archaeological area, the Egyptian archaeological mission affiliated with the Supreme Council of Antiquities uncovered remains of military fortifications, residential units for soldiers, and a trench indicating the possible presence of another fortress in the area.

Mr. Sherif Fathy, Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, emphasized the importance of this discovery, which sheds light on the secrets of Egypt's eastern military fortifications during the Ptolemaic and Roman eras, and the importance of Tell Abu Saifi as a military and industrial center throughout the ages.
