Iran announced the thwarting of a large-scale cyber attack targeting the country's critical infrastructure. The Iranian Mehr News Agency quoted Behzad Akbari, CEO of the Iranian Communications Infrastructure Company and Deputy Minister of Information and Communications Technology, as saying, "His team was able to detect and successfully thwart a major cyber attack targeting the country's infrastructure."

Akbari said in a post on the social media platform "X": "Thanks to the tireless efforts of the security and technical teams of the Communications Infrastructure Company and the Ministry of Information and Communications Technology, a large-scale and complex cyber attack targeting the country's infrastructure was detected yesterday, and preventive measures were taken."
