Suez Canal revenues increased by 20.7% to record about $7 billion, compared to about $5.8 billion in 2020/2021.
The number of ships transiting the Suez Canal during 2021/2022 also witnessed an increase of 15.7%, recording about 22 thousand ships, compared to 19 thousand ships in 2020/2021, and the net tonnage transiting the canal witnessed an increase by 10.9% to reach 1.32 billion tons in 2021 / 2022, compared to 1.19 billion tons in 2020/2021.
