The army stated, in a statement broadcast by the Israeli channel "i24," that sirens sounded in Haifa and other areas in northern Israel to warn residents of this danger.

It indicated that "an interceptor missile was fired at the missile, which was likely successfully intercepted," adding that "the results of the interception are being examined."
