Egyptian foreign minister and president-designate of the 27th session of the UN Climate Change Conference (COP27) Sameh Shoukry held a series of meetings on Tuesday and Wednesday with various world officials on the sidelines of the Bonn UN Climate Conference in Germany.
The 56th session of subsidiary bodies aims to lay the groundwork for success at COP27, according to the UN, as governments in Bonn will focus on work in the key areas of mitigation, adaptation, and supporting developing countries, particularly financially.
The top Egyptian diplomat met on Tuesday with the Executive Secretary of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCC) Patricia Espinosa, where they discussed how the 56th session of the subsidiary bodies for Implementation (SBI56) can contribute to the progress required and expected in the upcoming COP27 in Sharm El-Sheikh
