Some social media pages circulated news about approving a new increase in natural gas price brackets to be implemented starting from this November, and a list of the prices of those brackets was circulated.
The Cabinet's Media Center contacted the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, which denied the news, stressing that there is no truth to the approval of any new increase in natural gas price brackets to be applied starting from this November, and that the circulated list is for the prices that were approved within the last package in September 2024, in an effort to narrow the existing gap between prices and production costs, stressing that the current prices of natural gas, whether allocated to homes or commercial activities, have been in effect since last September without applying any new increase to them at the present time, noting that the ministry is implementing a program to increase gas delivery rates to homes in all governorates of Egypt, with the aim of reducing the burden on citizens and enabling the largest number of Egyptian families to benefit from natural gas in their homes, calling on citizens not to be led by such rumors, and to obtain information from its official sources.
