He was classified as one of the most prominent artists who distinguished themselves in Egyptian cinema, and presented many distinctive artistic works, and the audience loved him because of his good heart. He is the late artist Mamdouh Wafi, and today is the anniversary of his death.

His artistic career

Mamdouh Wafi began his artistic career in 1979 through theatrical work, where he participated in many distinguished theatrical works, including: "Hamry Jamry, Al-Hamgy, She and the Students, Hazrat Al-Sada Al-Ayyal, Forgery in Awraq Atefiya".

While accompanying his friend Ahmed Zaki on his treatment trip, Wafi discovered by chance that he had stomach cancer, and that his condition was advanced. The disease quickly devoured him and Wafi passed away, praying to his friend and lifelong companion not to follow him, and for God to bless him with the blessing of recovery.

In the moment of farewell between him and Ahmed Zaki, he asked him for a final request, which was that death not separate them, as they were together in this world, he wished to remain together forever, and to be buried in the grave of his friend Ahmed Zaki (because he was certain that Zaki would join him soon), and Ahmed Zaki fulfilled his wish and Wafi preceded him to his grave and was buried in it and Ahmed Zaki joined him after only 5 months; as Wafi passed away on October 17, 2004, so that they would remain together as companions on the path.
