UNICEF: 85% of Gaza children face food poverty
10/16/2024

UNICEF spokesman Kazem Abu Khalaf confirmed that 85% of children in the Gaza Strip face what is called food poverty.. He said: "What children in the Gaza Strip are going through is the highest and most expensive price they pay for the conflict that is man-made and can be avoided if the war stops or if it is agreed that there will be safe corridors for the entry of aid." Abu Khalaf added - in an intervention on the "Cairo News" channel on the occasion of World Food Day, which falls today - that the food supplies or trucks loaded with various goods are not enough, so we demand the entry of more humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip to avoid an increase in cases of malnutrition, and until that happens, civilians in the Gaza Strip, especially women and children, pay the highest price.

He pointed out that talk about the provisions of international law and the need for a ceasefire, safe corridors and areas, and the exit of civilians will all remain slogans, if there is no political will to impose a solution on the ground that stops starvation and suffering and preserves the lives of children and civilians.
