FM Heads to Stockholm For Ministerial Meeting on Climate Action

Egypt’s Foreign Minister (FM) and president-designate of the 27th session of the Conference of Parties on Climate Change (COP27) Sameh Shoukry headed to Sweden’s Stockholm to partake in the sixth ministerial meeting on climate action.

The meeting will be attended by European Commission Executive Vice-President for Climate Change, Canadian Minister of Environment and Climate Change, Chinese Minister of Environment, as well as the UK Secretary of State, along with a galaxy of ministers and officials from different countries and representatives of various parties concerned with international climate action

 

During his participation, Shoukry will shed light on Egypt’s views on various aspects of global climate action, and the priorities that should be focused on, as a part of ongoing efforts to implement the Paris agreement on climate change, as well as the preparation for the 27th session of the Conference of Parties on Climate Change (COP27), set to be hosted in Sharm El-Sheikh next November.

In addition, FM is set to hold talks with his Sweden counterpart Ann Linde, to discuss ways to boost bilateral cooperation between both countries in various fields, foremost development, investment, trade, tourism and green transformation.
