Dr. Badr Abdel Aati, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration and Egyptian Expatriates Affairs, met with Ylva Johansson, European Commissioner for Home Affairs, in Cairo, where they discussed ways to enhance cooperation between Egypt and the European Union in the field of migration.
The two sides affirmed, according to a joint statement today, Tuesday, the long-term successful partnership in the field of migration, which is currently being strengthened after the signing of the Joint Political Declaration on the Comprehensive and Strategic Partnership on March 17, 2024, of which migration and mobility are among its six pillars.
The two sides stressed the importance of enhancing the comprehensive approach to dealing with the phenomenon of migration in line with the Joint Political Declaration, including linking migration to development, and addressing the root causes of irregular migration.
