President El-Sisi receives the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy

President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi received today Josep Borrell, the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, and the accompanying high-level delegation that included the European Union Envoy for the Middle East Peace Process, in the presence of Dr. Badr Abdel Aati, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Immigration, in addition to the European Union Ambassador to Cairo.

In this regard, the President stressed the seriousness of the ongoing escalation steps, which push towards expanding the circle of conflict, stressing in this regard the responsibilities that fall on the shoulders of the international community and the European Union to exert intensive pressure towards reaching an agreement that ends the ongoing war, including the violence and escalation witnessed in the West Bank, in a manner that defuses tension in the region and restores regional security and stability.

The EU High Representative was keen to express his deep appreciation for the role played by Egypt as a fundamental pillar of stability in the region, stressing the EU's interest in continuous consultation with Egypt and supporting its tireless efforts to maintain regional stability during this critical phase that the region is witnessing. In this regard, the President praised Josep Borrell's objective and fair positions over the past period.
