WHO: We do not recommend giving the monkeypox vaccine to all segments of society
9/2/2024

Dr. Farida Mahgoub, technical officer at the Infectious Hazards Prevention, Preparedness and Health Emergencies Unit at the World Health Organization, revealed during a press conference today, Monday, on the developments of monkeypox, that getting the vaccine provides protection, but it is not the only way to protect against infection.

She explained that the World Health Organization does not recommend giving the monkeypox vaccine to all segments of society, but advises giving the vaccine to health workers, those in contact with patients, and those who provide care to them because they are vulnerable to the disease, and people who have multiple sexual relationships, including specific groups who practice unnatural sex.
