Tourism Ministry: Egypt ranks 1st in Africa, 5th in MENA, 51st globally in WEF’s TTDI 2021

The Egyptian Tourism and Antiquities Ministry announced that Egypt ranked first in Africa, fifth in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) and 51st globally in the 2021 Travel and Tourism Development Index (TTDI) published by the World Economic Forum (WEF).

The Travel and Tourism Development Index 2021, titled “Rebuilding for a Sustainable and Resilient Future”, measures 117 economies on a range of tourism and travel related indicators and policies.

In a statement on Wednesday, the ministry said that Egypt jumped six places compared to 2019 edition of the TTDI.
