Dr. Maya Morsi, President of the National Council for Women, met with Josie Christodoulou, Commissioner for Gender Equality in Cyprus, with the aim of discussing ways of cooperation between the two sides and exchanging expertise and experiences in the issue of women’s empowerment between the two countries, on the sidelines of the activities of the 68th session of the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women (CSW68) in New York.
Dr. Maya Morsi reviewed the progress achieved in the file of violence against women, the file of economic empowerment of Egyptian women, and entrepreneurship programs that aim to develop women’s skills in project management, develop their entrepreneurial and personal qualities, and encourage them to start their own micro-enterprises.
For her part, Josie Christodoulou saluted Dr. Maya Morsi, noting that there is a great similarity between the two sides in the concerns related to women.
